Astronomy/ The Universe Flashcards

1
Q

What is the Big Bang Theory? Explain.

A

A thoery which explains how the Universe was formed.
A region of energy exploded outward. Matter was later formed from this energy. Matter condensed into starts because of gravity.

16
Q

What does a black hole result from?

A

The death of a massive star that produces a supernova explosion. The core fo the star collpases inward creating a black hole. The matter is very dense with enormous gravity pull.

17
Q

What is a galaxy?

A

A cluster of stars in the universe.
