Assign Permissions Flashcards

Q
Quick vs. Custom
A
QUICK
- Lets you assign a default permission set to users
- Works most of the time
- There are 2 default permission sets: Tableau CRM Platform User and Tableau CRM Platform Admin
CUSTOM
- Gives you fine-grained control over the permissions you assign
- Assign Tableau CRM permission set licenses to users
- Create a permission set that contains all the permissions your user needs
- Assign the permission set to the user
2
Q
Permission Set Licenses (PSL)
A
- This is the first thing you assign to users
- It enables a set of user permissions in your org
- Users can be assigned any number of Permission Set Licenses but Tableau CRM users need at least one PSL
- The PSL determines which permissions you can assign to a user
- You can only assign permissions that are included in that user’s PSL
- A PSL is like a passport, it grants you the right to travel

Q
Permission Sets
A
- This is the 2nd step in assigning permission
- Select the permissions you want to assign from the specific permissions enabled by the PSL, and add them to the permission set
- A permission set is like a visa, with each visa letting you do certain things
- Users need both the passport (PSL) and visa (permission set) to travel
- Go to Setup, click Permission Sets, click New
- Enter a name, select the PSL, and click Save
- Click System Permissions, add the ones you want, assign the set to users
- The 2 basic permission sets are: Tableau CRM Platform User and Tableau CRM Platform Admin
