Q

What test would you choose if testing a 16yr old? and why?

A

When needing to test a 16 year old – you have to choose between WAIS & WISC
o If testing is due to concerns they have lower abilities – choose WISC
o If testing to determine if they have higher abilities – choose WAIS

Q

How to determine a WISC result

A

WISC V Interpretation
Step 1.
Determine the best way(s) to describe overall intellectual ability.
Step 2.
Conduct an analysis of the Primary index scores.
Step 3.
If applicable, conduct an analysis of the Ancillary index scores.
Step 4.
If applicable, conduct an analysis of the Complementary index scores.
Step 5.
Determine normative strengths (if someone scores 138 in VCI) in the and normative (68 normative weakness) weaknesses in the index score profile.
Step 6.
(Optional) Determine personal strengths, personal weaknesses, key assets, and high-priority concerns among Primary index scores

14
Q

How do you establish if you need to use the GAI over the FSIQ

A

o Consider GAI if the difference between Indices is 23 points or more (e.g., VCI & Perceptual Reasoning Index are similar but there is a big diff. between them and Working Memory Index & P SI)

Q

Know Block Design administration and rules well-read manual & practice

A

o 2 trials – must give both trials even if Trial 1 is correct
o If you don’t get a perfect score on first 2 items administered, you must reverse
o If child rotates their design more than 30 degrees – correct them when they do it the first time – If they continue, mark as incorrect

A

Coding and Symbol Search.

23
Q

What is the Reverse rule and how does it work?

A

If someone does not get a perfect score on one of the first two items – administer previous items in reverse order until 2 perfect scores are obtained
