AS 09 - O2 and Console Overview Flashcards
Review Questions
How is airbourne de-icing conducted on the CT-`142?
Bleed-air is fed into inflatable rubber boots
Review Questions
What surfaces are subject to airbourne de-icing?
Leading edges of winds, horizontal and vertical stabilizers and the nacelle intakes
What are the hard wired O2 systems>
Pilot/ Co-pilot/ FE
NAV training cabin
How many portable fire fighting O2 systems are there?
3
What are the Max/ Min dispatch of the Pilot and Nav O2 systems?
Max 1800 psi
Min 1800 psi
Where is the fixed O2 cylinder for the Pilot O2 system?
Right nose compartment
Where is the single O2 cylinder in the baggage compartment located?
Port wall of fuselage
With max pressure (1800psi) how long is O2 provided for a 6 man crew with the diluted and 100% O2 setting?
Diluted: 60 min / person
100% 10 min / person
With min pressure (1300psi) how long is O2 provided for a 6 man crew with the diluted and 100% O2 setting?
Diluted: 41 min / person
100% O2: 7 min / person
Where are the three portable O2 systems located?
1 Behind co-pilot
2 In emergency stowage by airstair door
3 Beside baggage compartment door
What is the Min/Max pressure for the portable O2 system and how long at 100% O2 will it last?
Min/Max = 1800 psi
Lasts 15 mins
Where are the avionics racks located?
Port side, near front of the AC
What is inside of the Computer Rack?
Rack circuit breakers NTS Server NTS Pwr supply NIM SPCU RRIU
What does the NTS (NAV Training System) contain and do?
The DVME (digital virtual machine environment) computer contains a number of interface cards which communicates with AC systems
What does the NTS Power offer?
An ‘uninterrupted’ power supply
What is the NIM and what does it do?
The Nav Interface Module provides signal routing to various AC communications systems.
Where does the NIM receive information from?
FMS 1/2 switch, GPS 1/2 switch and FMS 1/2
Where does the NIM send information to?
Doppler and the ARINC in the NTS
What does the SPCU provide?
Overall system radar system timing and control, video/ signal processing and radar scan conversion.
What is the RRIU and what does it interface?
Remote Radar Interface Unit and it interfaces the NTS Server computer with the search radar via a full duplex 422 data link.
(NTS Server -> Search radar)
Where are the Rack Hot Sensors located?
One behind the NTS Server and one beside the SPCU
Where and what will the Rack Hot Enunciator do in the event of a Rack Hot?
Located at the instructor position, it will illuminate when the temperature in the avionics rack exceeds safe values.
