Eight hours paid at a flat rate
In order to sign up for a detail a member must be able to do what three things?
-Members must be available to work the entire detail
-Must report on time -You must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties
What happens if a detail is canceled with less than two hours notice?
1) member may be offered an unfilled detail for the same timeframe
2) if no details are available or OT available
3) or a member may decline the available detail or overtime
They will be compensated 4 hours of overtime flat rate
If a member is compensated for four hours for not doing the detail assigned, may they sign up for another detail after the fact?
No. Members may not double dip with another detail or overtime after they get paid the cancellation fee of four hours.
What do you need to know about swaps?
Swapping of full shifts are not allowed for the purpose of working details
-However, partial shift swaps are allowed with supervisor approval and within the same pay. To work a detail.
What do you need to know about software apps for detail assignments?
The software apps for details will be installed on department devices for use by members. However, if a member decides to download the app to his or her personal device, the department agrees not to use the data collected, except for the detail assignment.
If a member puts a software app for details on their personal phone, what do they have to remember?
A member may deny a department request to access their personal phone without subjecting member to discipline. If there is a search warrant, court order, or subpoena for a members device, the Department must immediately notify the union prior to the seizure of the members personal phone.
What was added in October 2022 regarding detain locked up?
If a detain me is anticipated to be held over four hours in a MSP lock up, they must notify the troop Duty Office to get a four hour overtime shift filled.
-If a detain me is suicidal and the shift requires an observation of assignment, they should also get four hours of OT for this assignment. In other words hire a member for four hours.
