Arm Muscles Flashcards
Biceps Brachii- short head
PA: coracoid process of scapula
DA: radial tuberosity and fascia of forearm via bicipital aponeurosis (lacertus fibrosus)
A: supinates and flexes forearm
N: musculocutaneous nerve c5-7
Biceps Brachii- long head
PA: supraglenoid tubercle
DA: radial tuberosity and fascia of forearm via bicipital aponeurosis (lacertus fibrosus)
A: supinates and flexes forearm, flexes arm
prevents anterior and inferior translation of humeral head
N: musculocutaneous nerve c5-7
Brachialis
PA: anterior lower surface of humerus
DA: coronoid process and ulnar tuberosity
A: flex forearm
N: musculocutaneous c5-6
Coracobrachialis
PA: coracoid process
DA: medial 1/3 surface of humerus
A: flex and ADD humerus
N: musculocutaneous c5-7 (pierces muscle)
Triceps Brachii- long head
PA: infraglenoid tubercle on scapula
DA: olecranon process
N: radial nerve c6-8
A: extend elbow, extend shoulder
Triceps Brachii- medial head
PA: posterior surface of humerus, inferior and medial to radial groove

N: radial nerve c6-8
Triceps Brachii
PA: posterior surface of humerus, superior and lateral to radial groove
DA: olecranon process
A: extend elbow
N: radial nerve c6-8
Anconeus
PA: lateral epicondyle of humerus
DA: superior part of posterior surface of ulna and little olecranon
A: terminal elbow extension, stabilizes elbow joint, abducts ulna during pronation
N: radial nerve c7-t1
