Arm and Elbow Fx ( Distal Humerus ) Flashcards
Boxer’s elbow
Chip fx at the tip of the olecranon caused by a fast extension of the elbow in a missed jab
Condylar Fx.
occurs at the medial or lateral articular process of the humerus at the elbow
Epicondylar Fx
Occurs through oneof the two epicondyles, medial or lateral.
Holstein-Lewis Fx
Involves the humerus at the junction of the middle and distal thirds; associatted w/ radial nerve paralysis because of nerve proximityto posterior sptum and bone.
Kocher Fx
Semilunar chip Fx of capitellum w/ displacement into .joint
Laugler Fx
Involves the trochlea of the humerus
Malgaigne Fx.
Extension mechanism supracondylar fx of humerus:name also applied to a vertically dissociated fx dislocation of the pelvis and proximal fibular Fx.
Posada Fx
Anteriorly angulated fx of distal humerus associated w/ psoterior dislocation of radius and ulna.
Sideswipe Fx
Comminuted Fx of distal humerus and sometimesradius and ulna caused by direct blow aginst elbow
Supracondylar Fx
occurs through the distal metaphysis of the humerus or femur: TF or YF
