Arm Flashcards
Attachments of coracobrachialis
Proximal: tip of coracoid process of scapula
Distal: middle third of medial surface of humerus
Actions of coracobrachialis
adducts and flexes arm at shoulder (resists shoulder dislocation!)
Blood supply of coracobrachialis
brachial artery
Innervation of coracobrachialis
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6, C7)
Attachments of short head of biceps brachii
Proximal: tip of coracoid process of scapula
Distal: radial tuberosity and antebrachial fascia
Attachments of long head of biceps brachii
Proximal: supraglenoid tubercle of scapula
Distal: radial tuberosity and antebrachial fascia
Actions of biceps brachii
supinates forearm
and when supine, flexes forearm (resists shoulder dislocation!)
Blood supply of biceps brachii
brachial artery
Innervation of biceps brachii
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6, C7)
Attachments of brachialis
Proximal: distal half of anterior humerus
Distal: coronoid process of the ulna and ulnar tuberosity
Actions of brachialis
flexes forearm at elbow
Blood supply of brachialis
branches of the brachial artery
Innervation of brachialis
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6, C7)
Attachments of triceps brachii
Proximal: long head @ infraglenoid tubercle of scapula / lateral head @ posterior humerus superior to radial groove / medial head @ posterior humerus inferior to radial groove
Distal: proximal olecranon
Actions of triceps brachii
chief extensor of forearm at elbow (long head resists humerus dislocation)
antagonist of biceps brachii
