Hail can damage grapes and even the vine itself. In the worst cases it can destroy an entire
crop

1. Strategic plantation of vineyards spread out over a number of sites will limit the impact
   of summer hailstorms that tend to be very localised
2. In certain vineyards netting is used to offer some protection but it is costly to
   implement

b. You are a winemaker looking to source some high quality Malbec in Mendoza. Name two
parts of Mendoza you would source your fruits (2 marks) Why would the grapes from these
regions produce fresher wines then elsewhere (3 marks)
