Why/ how do we commemorate the past?
By making plaques, statues, re-enactments and parades. We also do it by paying respects to the dead or celebrating a past event that we are proud of.

What is an archive
Is the collection of documents or records that historians used to research the past.
What is a museum
A place to find out facts and other interesting primary sources
Why is a museum beneficial
Museum is put together exhibitions where they show variety of objects from a time period.
How can an archaeologist find a sight
- Structural remains of an old building
- Research documents or maps
- A shift in landscape due to a natural disaster
What is carbon 14 dating
All living things contain a chemical called carbon 14. When a Living thing dies, the amount of carbon 14 decreases allowing archaeologist to work out the age of the organism. This is accurate up to 50,000 years.
What is dendrochronolgy
Tree ring dating is looking at the tree rings to tell when they were formed.
