APS Groundschool day 2 Flashcards
TORA
Takeoff Run Available –> Runway length suitable for ground run when taking off (dus zonder clear of stopway)
Stopway
Area behind the runway which can be used for RTO. It is capable to hold the aircraft weight
Clearway
An area beyond the paved runway, free of obstructions. can be grass, concrete etc
TODA
Takeoff Distance available
TORA + Clearway
ASDA
Accelerate-stop Distance Available
TORA + Stopway
Balanced V1
TODR = ASDR
Balanced field
TODA = ASDA
Screenheight dry + wet
Dry = 35 ft Wet = 15 ft
V1 (decision speed) must be: (greater/less than)
V1 = decision speed
- Greater than Vmcg
- Less than Vmbe
- Less or equal to Vr
Takeoff pitch settings
TO pitch = 15 degrees
N-1 TO pitch = 12/13 degrees
Rotate 2/3 degrees per second
Vr must be: cannot be less than
- not be less than V1
- not be less than minimum unstick speed + 5% for single engine
- not be less than minimum unstick speed + 10% for all engines
- minimum control speed airborne + 5%
Vr must be: cannot be greater than
the maximum tyre speed (196 kts)
V2 is defined as:
the takeoff safety speed which must be attained at screen height at the end of TODR
V2 must be: must be greater than
- 1G stall speed
- 1,1 VMCA
Runway conditions code + braking action (1-6)
6 = ... 5 = Good 4 = Good to Medium 3 = Medium 2 = Medium to Poor 1 = Poor 0 = nil
Dry runway is:
a runway whose surface is free of visibble moisture and not contaminated within the area intended to be used
Wet runway is:
a runway whose surface occured by any visible dampness or water up to and including 3 mm deep within the area intended to be used
Contaminated runway is:
Runway of which more than 25% (significant) of the surface area within the lenght and width being used is covered by one or more substances: compacted snow, dry snow, frost, ice, slush, standing water, wet ice, wet snow
Dry Scheduled LDR is
Demonstrated LDR + 67%
WET scheduled LDR is
Dry Scheduled LDR + 15%
Missed Approach: Approach climb (2,1%) (setting)
Approach config, Gear up, F15)
One engine inoperative
Missed Approach: Landing climb (3,2%) (setting)
Landing config (Gear down, F40) Both engines at max thrust
TCAS symbols
leeg wit = other traffic
gevuld wit = proximate traffix
amber = TA Traffic Advisory –> impact binnen 40 sec
red = RA Resolution Advisory –> impact binnen 25 sec
Situational awareness can be divided into three levels:
notice
understand
think ahead
Terrain clearance terms
MEA = Minimum Enroute Altitude MOCA = Minimum Obstalce Clearance Altitude MORA = Minimum Off route Altitude MGA = Minimum Grid Altitude
Cold/warm temperature correction
4% for every 10 degrees different than ISA
Noise Abatement Procedures (2 opties)
NADP1 = 3,000 ft --> use at EPST NADP2 = 1,500 ft
