Apoptosis Flashcards
1
Q
How does the extrinsic pathway work?
A
When a cell receptor receives a signal, the death receptor transduces the signal by activating the caspade cascade. Due to thi, caspases are activated, which can act as DNAase, proteinases, and enzymes which destroy structures of the cell.

Q
How does the intrinsic pathway work?
A
If DNA damage occurs for example, the presence of the p53 protein will activate the caspase cascade, resulting in activated caspases, which act as DNAase, proteinases and enzyme which destroy structures of the cell.
