What is anaemia?
Symptoms?
A condition characterised by a reduced ability of the body to deliver enough oxygen to the cells due to a lack of healthy red blood cells.
Symptoms: tired, headaches, weak, pale skin.
What is food security?
Food security exist when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to safe and nutritious food which meets their dietary needs needs and food references for an active and healthy life.
What is cholesterol?
It is a type of fat required for optimal functioning of the body. And excess can lead to a range of health concerns.
What is a macronutrient?
Give an example.
It is a large molecules which are required in high quantities.
EG. carbohydrates, protein and fats.
What is a Kilojoule (Kj)?
It is a unit for measuring energy intake or expenditure.
What is Metabolism?
A collection of chemical reactions what take place in the body’s cells. It converts the fuel in the food we eat into energy.
