if nauseated, good 1st line Tx to prescribe?
A
- CYCLIZINE 50 mg 8 hourly IM, IV, PO for most cases
(BUT causes fluid retention so NOT in cardiac cases or HF)
if not nauseated, prescribe PRN

when to avoid metoclopramide?
A
PD
(D antagonist, ↑ Sx)
young women due to risk of dyskinesia (espec acute dystonia)

parkinsonian
bowel obstructed
