DimenhyDRINATE mechanism of action
-antihistamine activity: classified as an H1 receptor antagonist. Works by blocking the action of histamine.
-anticholinergic properties: blocks the action of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors. Ability to alleviate motion sickness and nausea.
-effect on vestibular system: involved in balance and spatial orientation. Dampens signals from the vestibular apparatus that may lead to motion sickness

Nausea, vomiting due to vertigo, motion sickness, narcotic administration
DimenhyDRINATE contraindications
-Hypersensitivity to DimenhyDRINATE/diphenhydrAMINE
-narrow angle glaucoma
-ingested a large amount of depressants (alcohol)
