16
Q

Lupus anticoagulant is named for its affect on PTT

A

It looks like you are prone to bleeding b/c of the PTT results. In reality, you are in a hypercoaguable state. May lead to DVT, hepatic Thrombosis, AND PLACENTAL THROMBOSIS….this causes the recurrent pregnancy loss

Long story short…anti-coag is a terrible name and you have to take an anticoagulant for your entire life.
