phototoxic drug that can cause skin eruptions when pt is exposed to UV light. They do not depend on immune mechanisms so they dont require a period of stabilization. caused by the production of reactive oxygen species causing keratinocyte necrosis.

red scaling eruption. preceded by solitary “herald patch”. Characteristic orientation of the lesions give typical Christmas tree appearance. Associated with HH6 and HH7.
