A

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius

  • It is a variant S. pseudintermedius resistant to all β-lactams
  • It is called methicillin-resistant because the gene causing resistance (mecA) is the same as in MRSA
  • It originates from dogs
  • As MRSA it is generally multidrug-resistant and spreads clonally
