Antianginal Drugs Flashcards
1
Q
Broad Categories of Antianginal Drugs
A
Angina happens when blood supply to heart is reduced and the heart freaks out!
- Beta Blockers (decrease stimulation to heart): metoprolol, carvedilol, labetalol
- Calcium Channel Blockers (slow response of muscle contraction of heart): Diltiazem, Amlodipine
- Nitrates/Nitrites (dilate/relax blood vessels to improve blood flow and O2 Sat in heart): Isosorbide, Dinitrite, Niroglycerine
