Q

What happens if an overheat condition is detected in windows L1/R1 or L2/R2?

A

An overheat will automatically remove power from the window heat system and illuminate the OVERHEAT light for the associated window.
The light remains illuminated until the window has cooled; however, the system
must be manually reset by resetting the WINDOW HEAT switch OFF, then ON.

Q

The Engine Anti-Ice System uses engine bleed air to prevent ice formation on which parts of the engine?

A

TAI (Engine Thermal Anti Icing) prevents ice on the Engine Cowl Lip and Core anti-ice using bleed from the 4th and 10th stages

Core anti-ice is automatically controlled by the EEC with no Flight Crew input or indication.

Q

The Wing Anti-Ice System uses engine bleed air to prevent ice formation on which part(s) of the wing?

A
  • The three inboard
    leading-edge slats
    with bleed air.
  • Does not include:

Q

How does wing anti-ice affect stall logic?

A

Putting WING ANTI-ICE switch to ON:
sets stall warning logic by increasing the stall warning logic to increase stick shaker and minimum maneuver speed for remainder of the flight.

Q

What occurs if wing anti-ice is used during takeoff?

A

The wing anti-ice valve will close when the thrust levers are advanced for take-off. The switch will trip off at lift off to match valve position (it will turn on)

Q

Which parts of the aircraft are electrically heated?

A

All pitot tubes, AOA vanes, and the TAT probe are electrically heated.

PROBE HEAT panel allow for automatic and manual application of heat

L1, R1 and L2, R2 are also heated

Q

When will the L or R valve caution light show?

*Question not in back of chapter

A

When the wing anti-ice valves are in transit or disagree with the WING ANTI-ICE switch position

or
insufficient duct pressure exists with
the WING ANTI-ICE switch ON below FL280.

Q

What can happen if the there’s a failure to position the PROBE switches to AUTO on the ground after landing?

A

This results in the probe heat system applying heat to the probes. This condition results in the inability to enter performance information on a subsequent flight due to the increased TAT
