Overweight
25-29.9
Obesity
BMI 30 > greater
BMI Equation

True/Anatomical
Shortening may be equal throughout limb. Femur or Tibia lengths are different in each leg. Measurement taken from medial malleolus to ASIS.
Apparent/Functional
Measurement take from the belly button to the medial malleolus. Result of lateral pelvic tilt or from a flexion or addiction deformity. Lengthened or weak posterior gluteus medium or deep hip lateral rotators. Lengthened or week foot supinators. Postural foot pronation or supination.
Leg Length Discrepancy Treatment
Treatment ranges from shoe inserts’ posture training, and movements training to various surgical techniques.
Girth Measurements
Used to assess amount of edema or atrophy in one part of the body. Used uninvolved body part as a control.
