What is anigocardiography
A
radiographic assessment and diagnostic study of the vascular system, greater vessels and chambers of the heart.

- Show congenital or acquired lesions of the heart
- abnormal shunting of blood
- evaluation of interventional cardiology

A
- fasted for 6-8 hours
- pt washed and clean
- full hx obtained
- collars removed
- ROI clipped where the catheter is to be placed

What is contrast media?
A
compound solution that is given to the patient and increases the radiographic contrast within the organ system

A
- structures
- shape
- size
- postion of the organ

7 potential complications of contrast media?
A
- injecting air bubbles into the left side of the heart can cause air embolism
- Perforations of the endocardium or myocardium can occur due to catheter manipulation
- haematomoa thrombosis or haemorrhage formation at vascular site
- Nephrotoxicity
- Allergic reactions
- Infection
- Arrhythmias

A
look for;
- v+ / D+
- disorientation
- ataxia
- breathing difficulties
- excessive bleeding
