- IF absence
- GI surgery

- causes: poor nutrition, malabsorption, drugs

A
Insidious onset
•Absence of neurologic problems

- low RBCs
- causes: end stage renal, liver disease, cancer, inflammation, endocrine
- high serum ferritin & iron stores
- treat underlying cause

- T: erythropoietin, blood
