A
DIMs = danger in me –> suggests tissues need protecting and takes pain up
SIMs = safety in me –> suggests tissues are safe and takes pain down

A
- Cognitive restructuring - identifying and changing unhelpful beliefs
- Avoidance - decreasing maladaptive behaviours
- Relaxation, exercise and paced activity - increasing adaptive behaviours

Acceptance and commitment therapy
- Developing acceptance of unwanted experiences which cant be controlled
- Commitment and action towards valued life
