Closer to the body

Further from the body (hand) (lower part)
What’s medial?
Middle of body
What’s lateral ?
To the side/ away form middle
What’s superior?
Higher part of body
What’s inferior ?
Lowe part of body
What’s the coronal plane?
Separates the front (anterior) and back (posterior) of the body
What movements occur in the coronal plane?
Aduction/abducton
Elevation/depression
Inversion of the ankle / eversion of the ankle
What’s the sagittal plane?
Separates the left and right sides of the body
What movements occur in the sagittal plane?
Flexion/ extension
Dorsiflexion/ planter flexion
What’s the transverse plane ?
Separates the upper (superior) and lower (inferior) halves of the body
What movements occur in the transverse plane?
Rotation
Horizontal abduction/ horizontal abduction
