What are the symtoms of anaphylaxis

A
  • flushing
  • Pruritus - itcheness
  • Urticaria - hives
  • Angioneutretic oedema
  • Abdominal pain, vomming
  • Hypotension - vasodilation and plasma exudation - circulatory failure
  • Stridor, wheez, respiratory failure

A
  • Acute onset
  • Likely exposure to allergen
  • Decrease BP after exposure

A
  • IM adrenaline
  • Iv anti-histamines
  • IV- corticosteriods
  • High flow oxygen
  • Nebulised bronchodilators
  • If neccessory endotracheal intubation

  • Challange test - supervised exposure to putative antigen
  • IgE detection in serum - immunoassay
