- large intestine, feeds on GI flora

- bacteriophages

- flagellated in addition to amoeba stages
- can be facultative in invertebrates

A
- “brain eating amoeba”
- nasal –> olfactory nerves –> brain
- trophozoite, cyst, and flagellated forms
- causes PAM

Acanthamoeba
A
- open wounds, nose, eyes
- similar life cycle to Naegleria fowleri with no flagellated form
- causes chronic skin condition, problems with CNS, keratitis
