Amiodarone: Indications
A
- Supression of V-Fib/Pulseless V-Tach - refractory to defibrilation.
- Supression of V-Tach with a Pulse.

Amiodarone: Contraindications
A
- Hypersensitivity: Allergy to iodine (shellfish).
- Medication induced ventricular dysrhythmias.
- Torsades de Pointes

Amiodarone: Adult Dose/Admin
A
Adult
Cardiac Arrest: 300mg IV/IO bolus in 14ml NS. Repeat dose after 3-5 min 150mg IV/IO bolus in 7ml NS.
V-tach w/ pulse: 150mg IV/IO drip in 100ml NS over 10 min.

Amiodarone: Pediatric Dose/Admin
A
Pediatric
Cardiac Arrest: 5mg/kg IV/IO bolus follwoed by NS flush. Repeat dose after 3-5 min. (Max total 15mg/kg.)
V-tach w/ pulse: 5mg/kg IV/IO drip, diluted in NS/D5W, titrated.
