Block Acetylcholinesterase in brain increases [ACh]. Only relieves symptoms for 6 months then regression seen.

ACHE-I and Butryl-cholinesterase inhibitor (block the thing breaking down the acetylcholine, this will increase levels)

Memantine (two N’s and two M’s)

NMDA receptor antagonist.. decreases plasticity of neurons. Gven in patients in advanced stage of disease.

What are the major toxicities involved with the aforementioned drugs used to treat AD?
A
Nausea and vomiting.
