Neither exist! Don’t do it!
How is disulfiram
Disulfiram interferes with aldehyde dehydrogenase - leads to excessive acetaldehyde levels
What is the rate-limiting step of alcohol metabolism?
Metabolism to acetaldehyde, catalyzed by alcohol dehydrogenase
What is the antidote to methanol intoxication?
Ethanol!
competes with metabolism of methanol
REVIEW:
What actually causes the hangover symptoms?
Accumulation of acetaldehyde
What is toxicity like with antifreeze consumption?
Early symptoms - 0.5-0.6 hr

- Metabolic acidosis
- cardiovascular dysfunction
- acute kidney failure
