What can be considered the brain of the 787 ?
The CCS : Common Core System.
It provides a common computing network and data exchange system for the majority of airplanes systems.
Airplane General - Doors and Windows
What is the main component of the CCS (Common Core System) ?
The CCRs : Common Computing Resource, composed of a left and right cabinet.
Separate modules within each CCR cabinet perform distinct functions.
2 CCRs : L and R
Aircraft Familiarization
What are the CCS controls and/or indications for normal operations ?
There are none! CCS is fully automatic.
But they can be reset by 2 overhead switches through an unannunciated NNC : LOSS OF ALL DISPLAYS.
Aircraft Familiarization

Aircraft Familiarization
How is the left CCR started ?
By pushing the main battery switch ON.
Aircraft Familiarization
When is the right CCR started ?
When :
• The left CCR has completed its startup and,
• a power source other than the battery is available.
