In the 1670’s Britain’s was an exporter of grain, with 500,000 quarts sufficient to feed 150,000 people but in 1784 it became a net importer of grain because it had more people and made less grain

The farmers started to put up barriers around their land to separate the land between the farmers instead of sharing the land between multiple farmers
