ad quem tum luno supplex his vocibus usa est:
‘ Aeole ( namque tibi divum pater atque hominum rex
et mulcere dedit fluctus et tollere vento ) ,
To him then Juno, as a suppliant, used these words :
‘ Aelous ( for the father of the Gods and king of men gave you
the power both to calm the winds and raise them with wind ) ,
gens inimica mihi Tyrrhenum navigat aequor
llium in Italiam portans victosque penates :
incute vim ventis submerasque obrue puppes,
a race hostile to me is sailing on the Tyrrhenian Sea
carrying Illiam ( troy ) and the conquered household Gods to Italy:
strike force into the winds and sink and overwhelm the ships
aut age diversos et dissice corpora ponto.
sunt mihi bis septem praestanti corpore Nymphae ,
or drive them in all directions and scatter their persons across the sea.
I have 14 nymphs of outstanding beauty,
quarum quae forma pulcherrima Deiopea ,
conubio iungam stabili propriamque dicabo,
Of whom Deiopiea , who is prettiest in beauty ,
I will join you in stable marriage and I will assign to you as your own,
omnes ut tecum meritis pro talibus annos
exigat et pulchra faciat te prole parantem
so that she may live out all the years with you for such services
and make you a beautiful offspring
