Thunderstorm avoidance. General guidelines.
A
- never go closer than 5 miles with overhanging areas consider 20 miles
- do not fly beneath
- when temp at flight level is 0 or higher avoid all echos by 5 nm
- when temp at flight level is Less than 0 avoid all echos by 10 nm
- avoid all echos by 20nm if aircraft clears the top by less than 5000 feet
- if possible go around on upwind side

Actions when encountering severe turbulence
A
- disengage autopilot
- maintain control of the airplane by primary reference to attitude
- allow a/s and alt to fluctuate as required
- avoid sudden or large power and control inputs
- reduce IAS to rough airspeed
- avoid use of large bank angles
- report the turbulence

What is the lower and upper numbers for in hold over tables?
A
- High confidence that the fluid is still working at the lower time
- Anytime the lower is exceeded a PCI mist be conducted.
- exceeding the higher time the fluid has been untested in those conditions at that time as a result a PCI must be conducted and or deicing completed within 5 mins of takeoff

If using SureWX when the holdover time is exceeded can you takeoff?
