A
Decreases electrical conduction through the AV Node, interrupts AV reentry pathways to terminate supraventricular arrhythmias

Indications
A
- Narrow complex tachyarrhythmias refractory to vagal maneuvers
- Diagnostic agent in wide-complex tachydysrhythmias

Contraindications
A
-Irregular tachycardias
-High degree AV Blocks
-SSS
Relative: Asthma

Adverse Reactions
A
- Arrhythmias (usually transient)
- Facial Flushing
- Headache
- SOB
- Dizziness
- N/V

Dose -> Adult
A
6mg RAPID IVP, followed by 12mg RIVP after 1-2 minutes

Special Considerations
A
- If IO used, humeral head site preferred
- Proximal, large-bore IV ,rapid push, rapid flush, elevate limb
