active assisted exercise Flashcards

1
Q

how to perform

A

explain, demonstrate, position, decide lever length/equipment, encourage control, guidance on avoiding trick movements, work until fatigued, can use hot pack after
give 6–12 reps per set. Aim for 3-5 sets, rest period 2 mins between,
frequency - several times a week, taking into account their current level of function, any limitations or restrictions, and treatment goals
encourage to practice at home

auto - using body as resistance, arm resists bicep curl, foot assisting knee extension
manual - another person passively assisting knee extension
mechanical - equipment, foot on tray to flex/extend knee
