What is MEA and what is it for?
Minimum Enroute Altitude
The lowest published altitude between radio fixes which assures acceptable navigational signal coverage and meets obstacle clearance requirements between those fixes.
What is MOCA?
Minimum Obstruction Clearance Altitude
- The lowest published altitude in effect between Radio Fixes on VOR airways, off-airway routes, or route segments which meets obstacle clearance requirements for the entire route segment but only assures acceptable nav signal coverage within 22 NM.
What is THRE?
Threshold Elevation above sea level.
What is MRA on a Low Altitude Enroute IFR chart?
Minimum Reception Altitude
- Lowest altitude at which an intersection can be determined from an off-course NAVAID. However DME equipment may be used to identify the intersection if the chart allows.
