What is the treatment for acne rosacea?

Topical metronidazole
Oral oxytetracycline

What bacteria contributes to the development of acne?
A
Propionibacterium acnes. This is an anaerobic rod

What antibiotics are used in acne? Why?
A
Tetracyclines, macrolides or trimethoprim. The bacteria responsible for acne are propionibacterium acnes which are anaerobic rods. For this reason traditional beta lactam rods are not effective
