Q

Acceptance

A

Micro:

There are many families and friends that have strong acceptance of the ideology of feminism and will behave accordingly. They may have these views and live them out in their world, where they may reject certain leaders/ governments/ movies/ songs as they don’t represent their viewpoint. This could also be seen in protests that people go to, and actively encourage friends and family to attend as well.

Meso:

Sporting groups such as the WAFL, cricket and surfing actively promote feminism and do this through increasing pay for female athletes. Can also be seen in community organisations such as those that are held for International Women’s Day. There are also many workforces that are now becoming more inclusive of women in that particular field, and more women in positions of authority.

Macro:

There is much recognition of the feminist movement around the globe. This can be seen in the annual International Women’s Day that is celebrated around the world, and a different theme is put forward each year. Similarly, the new Labor government is pledging to have more women instated in Parliament, and around the globe many Parliaments are following suit.

Q

Rejection

A

Micro:

There are many families and friends that have strong rejection of the ideology of feminism and will behave accordingly. They may have these views and live them out in their world, where they may be harsh and critical in their viewpoint. They may pass viewpoints onto family members and friends, encouraging people to actively reject feminism.

Meso:

There are many groups that also don’t actively encourage or support the feminist movement, such as the Men’s rights movement. It can also be demonstrated at some universities, one such example can be seen in the backlash against the bake sale at QLD university which led to online abuse.

Macro:

Men’s rights groups such as “A Voice for Men” arguing that men are oppressed as well. There are also influential women who “don’t need feminism” and actively encourage people not to believe in the ideology as they wish to see equality for men as well. Statistics are quoted in terms of the ratio of men in prison as well as men who are victims of domestic violence and sexual harassment.
