What is the crime control model
A
- Seek to deal with criminal cases quickly. By seeking a conviction at all costs
-Aims to punish criminals in order stop further crimes being comitted
- Focuses on the zero tolerance approach which links to the right realism theory
- Argues police should have enhanced powers in order for a conviction to be achieved
- Crime is a threat to peoples freedom and so the goal of crime control is to supress the crime

A
- Focuses on the innoncent till proven guilty
- Promotes fairness and protecting the defendants legal rights
- Argues police power should be limited to prohibt the oppression of an indivisual
- An investigation should be thorough to ensure a correct verdict

- Police must follow the PACE act
