  • When a person believes in social norms and therefore follows them. Therefore both superego and traditions will follow which part with their inner personality.

A
  • Conforming to the social norms which have come from upbringing teaching you reasons why the law should not be broken. This is important in their culture as if performed well they will be accepeted in this community

  • Stated that crimes would be committed by those with weak/broken bonds

Bonds included:

  • Attachment - Bonds you build with others
  • Commitment- If people are commited to a conventional lifestyle it allows a reduction in crime
  • Involvement - The more involved you are in society that you are more likely to build a sense of belonging
