What is simple version of deviations from social norms?
When a person behaviours in a way that is different from how we expect people to behave
What is the definition of deviation from social norms?
Assumes that behaviour is abnormal if it violates the social norms of that particular culture. If behaviour varies greatly from that which a society expects it could be an indicator of mental illness.
What is comorbidity?
When you suffer from more than one mental illness.
AO3 : Abnormal behaviours are different in each culture
Some behaviours are seen as normal in one culture but would stand out as abnormal in another culture such as in African tribal culture speaking to spirits and hearing voices as seen as a healthy part of grieving but if someone display the behaviour in the UK they would be diagnosed with schizophrenia. so therefore you only get help with your behaviour stands out from the culture that you are in.
