5 inaccurate perception of reality
6 poor environmental mastery

P- it covers a broad range of criteria for mental h
E- some argue that def covers most reasons someone would seek help from MH services or referred for help
E- contradicts other def as DSN as only focus one criteria to define abnormality
L- therefore the vast range of factors discussed in relation to ideal MH make it an appropriate definition of abnormality

P- too strict
E- ppl may not be able to realistically meet all 6 criteria that define MH at one time
E- e.g individual who lost job may not be able to cope with stressful situations and may develop negative self attitudes as a result, mean individual classed as abnormal even tough this would be a rational response to many
L- therefore limiting DIMH
