Where is the antrolateral abdominal wall?
Extended from the thoracic cage to the pelvis
What bounds the anterolateral abdominal wall?
Superiorly- 7th through 10th costal cartilages and xiphoid process
Inferiorly - inguinal ligaments and pelvic bones
What is the ant. abdominal wall made up of?
Skin Superficial fascia Deep fascia Muscle Extraperitoneal fascia and parietal peritoneum
What are the abdominal walls lined by?
Fascial envelope and parietal peritoneum
What is the cutaneous nerve supply?
It is derived from the anteior rami of the lower six thoracic and first lumbar nerves
Thoracic nerves are the lower five intercostal and subcostal nerves
First lumbar nerve is represented by the iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves
