SAD PUCKER Supra-renal gland Aorta and IVC Duodenum Pancreas Ureters Colon (except sigmoid & transverse colon) Kidneys Esophagus (lower 2/3rds) Rectum
External Oblique Attachments, Function & NV supply?
PA: external surfaces of ribs 5-12
DA: linea alba, public tubercle, ant. 1/2 iliac Crest
N: Thoracoabdominal nerves (ventral rami of inferior 6 Tx & subcostal nerves)
A: flexion & C/L rotation
Layers of abdominal wall?
Sup > deep:
- Skin
- subcutaneous tissue/superficial fascia
Sup: fatty, deep: membranous layers
- 3 layers of deep fascia separating EO, IO, TA
- transversalis fascia
- extraperitoneal fat
- parietal peritoneum
Where does the inguinal ligament run?
ASIS to public tubercle
Internal oblique attachments
PA: Thoracolumbar fascia, ant 2/3 of iliac Crest, lateral 1/2 of inguinal ligament
DA: INF borders of ribs 10-12, linea alba
Internal Oblique NV supply?
Thoracoabdominal nerves (V. Rami of inferior 6 Tx nerves) & first Lx nerve
Rectus abdominis attachments?
O: Pubic symph & pubic crest
I: XP & cc’s 5-7
N: v.rami of inf 6 thoracoabdominal nerves
What is the rectus sheath formed by and what does it contain?
Aponeuroses of TA, EO, IO
Contains the rectus abdominis and pyramidalis as well as other NV vessels
