Ab Cavity 1 Flashcards
cranial caudal folding
At approximately 4 weeks into development the embryo forms a primitive endodermal gut tube which is connected to the yolk sac via the yolk stalk or omphaloenteric duct (future umbilical cord).
foregut stomedeum
(primitive mouth – ectodermal derivative) to the first 1/3rd of the duodenum; oropharyngeal membrane separates stomodeum from foregut.
arterial supply= celiac trunk
gives rise to pharyngeal pouches
midgut
Last 2/3rds of duodenum to the proximal 2/3rd of the colon.
arterial supply= superior mesenteric artery
gives rise to the yolk sack
hindgut
Last 1/3rd of colon to proctodeum (ectodermal derivative)
arterial supply: inferior mesenteric artery
gives rise to allantois
