‘Transnational corporations (TNCs) are the most significant factor in creating unequal flows of people and money within global systems’.

With reference to a TNC, assess the extent to which you agree with this statemetn. (20 marks)

Explain why an outsider perspective might give a different sense of place to an insider perspective. (4 marks)

Answer 2

• An insider perspective means you live in the place, whereas an outsider perspective means you have never visited the place
• An outsider perspective means you live in a place but don’t feel belonged. For example immigrant who doesn’t understand the culture so they feel excluded.

Using Figure 4a, Figure 4b and your own knowledge, suggest how physical geography contributes to the character of a place. (6 marks)
