Suspicion of heresy found dead in church cell - 1 clergyman 2 gaolers = church looking after their own
Standish Case 1516
Friar standish backed by parliament against benefit of clergy
Lollards
Little support. Persecuted between 1511-12. Underground heretical group 1520s. Inspired by wycliffe (wrote eng vernacular bible, denounced headship of church & rejected transub)
Lutheranism
German heresy. Some support inc Cranmer but minimal. None of nobility = lutheran = loyal to crown
