What is the additive in a yellow tube?
None
Used for an intermediate for blood gases, we do not do this, we use the butterfly to the aerobic and anaerobic bottles.

False low cell counts
False low hemocrits
Staining alterations on blood smears
Erroneous morphological change in RBC
What is the gray tube used for?
It has a gylcolic inhibitor, so it is used for delayed glucose testing (max 24 hours).
