observations of photoelectric effect

A

1)below a threshold frequency (v1) ie or above a threshold wavelength (lambda) no electrons ejected regardless or the intensity of the light source
2)above a threshold frequency , e are ejected regardless of intensity of the light source
3)if intensity of light os varied this effects the number of ejected e but has no effect on max KE
4)all metals show this behavior but each has its own unique threshold frequency

what was the surprise that came with photoelectric effect

A

if light is a wave, higher amplitude should proide more intense variations to metal atoms allowing to release e. But low frequency light does nothing regardless of intensity
